In memory of Nicolas Peltier and Jeanne de Vousy who formed the first Pelletier family to settle in New France. Remaining first at the Habitation de Quebec, they settled on the Saint-François-Xavier coast of Sillery around 1645. Governor Charles Husult of Montmagny grants to the master carpenter Nicolas Peltier 50 tracts of land on 12 Sep 1645.
