MCKNIGHT CONNELL
This aerial view is the farm of John Henry McKnight & Mabel Connell, 6th Concession (aka Fallis Line) Millbrook, Ontario. Purchased in 1920. This farm, Lot 10, Conc. 5 was originally owned by James Hunter. It is interesting to note that the down payment, the balance, the interest rate, the surveyors' stakes and timing were all done by the shake of the hand.

Purchased by John McKnight in 1920 from Hunter. Purchase was made legal by a hand written note signed by both parties. Sealed by a handshake. McKnight's moved out in 1961 to a house on Tupper Street in Millbrook. John McKnight's wife was Mabel Connell. Sons Reginald (1916) and Donald (1925). Daughter Edna (Dean) (1920) |
