  William Densmore was one of the original grantees of Newport Township 1761. On 1 January 1779 he leased 2 acres in Newport, N.S. from Winckworth Tongs as a house lot for a term of 21 years. On January 12 1784 Densmore assigned this lease to Benjamin DeWolf, Windsor merchant "by discount of money I owe him"
